Learning Journey

Author: Shaunk...

For this brief I had decided to showcase my progress through the year in a website. I toyed with the idea of producing a flash site but as I have used flash for 2 of the other briefs this year I made the decision to use HTML/CSS. This is mainly because I want to focus on developing my standards compliant CSS skills and because I have been concentrating more on this over the past few months.

As I have known my direction since the start of the course I don't want to aim the presentation at this, instead I want to show examples of where I was then and contrast this to where I am now. I want to have a few pages each one concentrating on an area ie. technologies & design then, technologies & design now, analysis of strengths & weaknesses, future plans.

I have done rough sketchbook work planning out my process already. I have summarized the semantic content, this still needs work but I have a general idea. I have also recently read a book on copy writing and am hoping to apply some of the skills learnt from this to my presentation.

Today I have been thinking about the design layout. At the moment I'm planing on producing a oriental style site with a "Path to Enlightenment" route. I have a good idea of how I want this to look in my head but the creative juices have been pretty stagnant today and I'm struggling to reproduce my concept on screen.

As far as time planing goes we have been having problems with shooting our video which is running at the same time with this brief so I'm hoping to get this site finished by the weekend and allow all of next week for working on the other project.
