Just read this interview in .net with Jason Walsh a freelance journalist specialising in digital trends & cultures. It slightly contradicts itself between the opinions of what is to come in 2008 but nether the less is still an interesting article. He briefly covers some graphic trends (black backgrounds, geometric shapes & crosshatching) which have risen in 2007 and he thinks will stay around for a while. He then talks about the nature of interactive design, how fast it changes and how now all designers are required to know a little scripting. He then goes on to say how web 2.0 there will be a movement towards interactivity over busy graphical content. There are also some recommendations of things every designer should do in 2008 which I found quite interesting (things like, watch helvetica, get inspiration from as many cultural groups as possible & keep up to date with flash).
