I saw this article last month in .net and intended to post it but then forgot. As we are now working towards producing a Flash piece and I have spent the day browsing Flash content and applications the article returned to me from the deepest darkest regions of my cerebral cortex. The article is by rob ford the founder of The FWA (www.thefwa.com) and gives a brief history of Flash & a countdown of the Top 20 Flash sites of all time.

Flash was launched in 1996, originally named FutureSlash Animator the product was declined by Adobe and subsequently purchased by Macromedia who renamed it Macromedia Flash 1.0. Since then Flash has without doubt become the design & development community's number one tool and has been used to create a multitude of creative apps & multimedia websites. The future also looks bright for Flash as many of the previous articles I have read contained tips and advice from professionals pegging Flash (and Actionscript) to be the most important piece of software for web designers & developers to learn and keep up to date with.

Over 200,000 Flash websites were pre-screened when compiling this list, some of the sites aren't very cutting edge now but were considered revolutionary at their time of release. The list goes as follows:
