I attempted to make a start on PHP a while ago and after spending a day messing around in Terminal and nothing working, updating PHP and still nothing working I gave up. I have now come back to the subject and am still having issues.

Since the original book I was using was printed MAMP has been released. This make the need to faff about with terminal redundant. The training DVD I have however is telling me to install and configure MAMP so all the exercise files are in my sites folder or the main Library/webserver/documents (the contents of which are shown when http://localhost/ is displayed in the browser).

MAMP documentation however says put all files within the http docs folder within MAMP. Anyway after lots of messing around I have got it half working but to be honest I haven't got a clue how I've done it.
