CSS site design
Author: Shaunk...
I've just finished the Lynda.com CSS Site Design training. It took a couple of weeks & confused the hell out of me at first but now I have a grasp of the basic concept. I'm sure there are plenty of little kinks I'm yet to come across that will confuse me further but for now I understand how the principles are maths based. Generating the desired layout is sometimes done using mathematical tricks rather than utilizing the element properties in the way they were originally intended however these tricks work and are the accepted and approved methods.
Once css started making sense (I did have to watch some of the earlier videos 3 times!) I could see why it has replaced table layout. There is much more control possibilities when using css, the ability to assign different stylesheets for different media is also very useful functionality and after working with them for a short time the methods do become more simplistic & logical.
