As I intend to include a wealth of information and help guides on my website I have been taking notes as I progress in the client side process of a company start-up.

In my opinion the first major step to overcome is getting the clients who want to be actively involved in the design process to a point where they clearly understand themselves. Guiding them to a place where they know what it is they want, don't want, sure of their desired outcomes and are past the "I know what I want but I can't describe it" phase.

So at present I'm making a simple to follow pre-brief, pre-project preparation guide. This I intend to use to reduce wasted time and streamline the process by making it clear what will happen and what is expected of a client.
