I've been trying to learn PHP lately. Unfortunatly it's harder to get things working correctly than it is to learn the language! I started with a book then moved on to a Lynda training DVD. These both went about telling you how to install the required software then edit the config files to allow things to work and specify the correct loactaion to act as the local home folder to run PHP loacally.

Anyway managed to do this on my Mac, I'm not even gonna attempt doing this on one of the Macs at Uni. Once was hard enough.

However, I then found another (more recent) book which told me about the wonderful MAMP/WAMP/LAMP (delete as appropriate). Just download it and run, eveything else is done for you.

But how do I get it to work so I can test pages from within Dreamweaver???
